THE 100 MILES OF BEAULIEU TO START AT INTERNATIONAL AUTOJUMBLE
September 7th & 8th
International Autojumble on September 7th and 8th will become the start line for The100 Miles of Beaulieu exciting new rally, as intrepid vintage car enthusiasts set off on a challenging night-time adventure on the open roads.
After a day of scouring International Autojumble’s 2,000-plus stands for bargains and rare parts, rally participants will drive their pre-1945 cars out of the event when darkness falls and tackle the 100-mile journey. With challenges at special checkpoints, the new experience will celebrate the camaraderie that brings vintage car enthusiasts together.
Organised by the online magazine and marketplace PreWarCar.com, the demanding rally will be a test of driver skill and car reliability. Following in the tyre tracks of The 100 Miles night events held in the Netherlands, it is the first of these challenging events to take place in the UK.
Throughout Saturday 7th, the participants’ magnificent machines will be on display for all to admire. Then after completing the course, owners will return to Beaulieu on Sunday 8th to chill out and enjoy the second day of International Autojumble. To register for the rally or for more details see www.the100miles.com.
For more than 50 years, International Autojumble has been an unmissable date on the classic car calendar for enthusiasts to track down elusive spare parts to keep their cars on the road. Fittingly, the show will be the place for a final look at Bluebell – the 1959 Standard Ten that is an automotive ambassador for the preservation of classics – before she leaves Beaulieu. Saved by event media sponsor Practical Classics, the family saloon captured the hearts of thousands who joined a campaign to save her from scrappage scheme destruction. Head to the Practical Classics stand to meet the team and chat about restoration skills and their latest vehicle projects.
Other show features include Automart, where you might find your dream motor for sale in an impressive selection of up to 200 classic cars for sale on Beaulieu’s arena. From restoration projects to immaculate examples, there will be an opportunity to take a closer look and strike a deal. Dealermart also features a selection of top condition classics offered by traders.
The Bonhams sale of collectors’ cars, motorcycles and automobilia will return on Saturday September 7th, as desirable and rare historic machines go under the hammer. Admission to the sale room is by pre-booked catalogue only. To register in advance see www.bonhams.com/auctions/25455.
A Sunday highlight is Trunk Traders, as amateur sellers offer assorted motoring jumble from their garages, sheds and lofts, providing a great opportunity to find bargains.
