SUPERCARS PAST AND PRESENT LINE UP AT LONDON CONCOURS

The London Concours, presented by Montres Breguet, will be hosting a display tracing the lineage of some of the finest modern performance icons in the Octane and evo Supercar Paddock.

This incredible display will encapsulate Aston Martin and McLaren, Ferrari and Ford; Lusso, Superleggera, GT and a single alphanumeric identifier representing moments in motoring history that are often repeated but rarely bettered.

The McLaren F1 was a seminal moment in performance car history; the fastest car in the world for more than a decade. But it wasn’t just its outright speed that changed the automotive landscape; the F1 was the first production car to use a carbon fibre reinforced polymer monocoque chassis, and its clean, wingless design utilised rear diffusers and electric fans to create downforce.

Then, 20 years later, comes the McLaren P1. Like its predecessor, it’s built with a carbon fibre monocoque chassis and rear-mid-engined but the powertrain is very much of the modern era. As opposed to the F1’s V12, the P1 is powered by a twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 producing 737bhp and a 177bhp electric motor. One of the first true petrol-electric hypercars, the P1 changed the world just as much as the F1 did, and both will be lined up side-by-side at London Concours.

Joining the McLarens in the Octane & Evo Supercar Paddock is a motorsport icon – the Ford GT40 – and its modern-day successor, the twin-turbocharged V6-powered GT. From 1966 to 1969, the Ford GT40 won the 24 Hours of Le Mans four consecutive times, including a 1-2-3 finish in 1966. Its successor joined the Ford GT lineage 50 years after this victory, boasting a low-slung design and lightweight carbon fibre construction.

The number of famous nameplates in Ferrari’s back catalogue is an embarrassment of riches, but London Concours will be celebrating the Lusso. Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever created, the 1960s 250 GT Lusso will line-up alongside its contemporary, the four-seater Ferrari GTC4Lusso.

The all-new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, a hugely potent and beautiful twin-turbo V12 Grand Tourer will be joined by the original DBS – originally designed as a replacement for the DB6. On display at London Concours will be a DBSV8 variant, which was the world’s fastest four-seater car when it was released in 1971.

With an offering of more than 100 automotive icons from the modern day to the early 20th Century, the Honourable Artillery Company’s glorious five-acre lawn will be transformed into a motoring utopia between 5-6 June. But London Concours is not just about the cars on display; it’s an automotive garden party complete with art from Collier Dobson and Ella Freire, drinks from Rémy Martin, Veuve Clicquot and Seedlip, and fashion from Neapolitan tailors, Isaia.

Collector and classic car insurance specialist, Footman James, will sponsor ‘The Icons’ class at London Concours (5-6 June 2019) in association with Azur.

Lining up on the Honourable Artillery Company lawns during the London Concours on 5-6 June 2019 will be a collection of automotive icons, each representing the stand-out car of their era. ‘The Icons’ class will be sponsored by leading automotive insurance specialist, Footman James, in association with Azur.

‘The Icons’ concours class is a carefully curated selection of cars that each represent innovation, design or performance for their era. Cars already announced within ‘The Icons’ category include The Land Rover Series I, original Mini, Jaguar E-Type and Lamborghini Countach.

A must-attend event in the global collector car calendar, the upcoming London Concours is organised by Thorough Events, the team behind the Concours of Elegance. It will be hosted again at the Honourable Artillery Company in the UK capital, bringing together the world’s most important manufacturers, collectors and specialists within the collector car industry.

The sponsorship announcement follows Footman James’ formal partnership with Azur, who provides specialist Private Client cover for Footman James. The London Concours has officially revealed its luxurious new hospitality offering

The London Concours, presented by Montres Breguet, has formally launched its exceptional new hospitality offering in association with celebrated chef, Mark Hix, and Veuve Clicquot champagne. The London Concours was established in 2017 as the capital's finest automotive garden party and, with these all-new fine food and drink offerings, it delivers on that promise more than ever.

VIP hospitality guests to the London Concours will be treated to a three-course lunch menu designed by Mark Hix in a pop-up 300 cover restaurant on-site at the Honourable Artillery Company Gardens, called HIX London Concours. Hix will be presenting two very special lunch menus based on his inimitable style of simply cooked, British seasonal food. LONDON CONCOURS ANNOUNCES CLASSES FOR 2019

The London Concours, presented by Montres Breguet, has announced this year’s expertly curated car classes, including ‘The Great Marques’, ‘The Innovators’ and ‘The Icons’.

The capital’s leading automotive garden party returns to the idyllic lawns of the Honourable Artillery Company from 5-6 June, displaying more than 70 automotive greats in seven distinct classes:

Lost Marques

The ‘Great Marques’ classes are a celebration of some of motoring’s most legendary brands. This year the honour falls to Ferrari and Jaguar; both of whom have a long list of automotive luminaries in their back catalogue – the Ferrari 250 GTO and Jaguar XKSS to name just two.

The Icons class is comprised of automotive models that came to represent their generation; think the ‘90s and it’ll be the McLaren F1 or think ‘60s and it’ll be the Aston Martin DB5. Whether it’s through ripping up the rulebook, finding fame on the silver screen or being the poster car for a whole generation of buyers, each car in this class has established itself as a verified automotive icon.

The Innovation Class brings together cars that blazed a trail with new technology both on the race track and on the road. Expect to see the first ground effect Formula One cars and innovators like the Bugatti EB110; the first road car to use carbon fibre monocoque. Meanwhile, ‘Made in Germany’ is a veritable greatest hits of the finest cars from Porsche, Mercedes, Audi and more.

Also featuring at the London Concours will be a display of ‘The Outlaws’; classic modified cars that are part of a recent global phenomenon spearheaded by the likes of Rod Emory, and the ‘Lost Marques’. These cars are a homage to some of the greatest automotive manufacturers lost to time; Alvis, Panhard, Frazer-Nash, Bizzarrini and more.
