RALLY ROUND NEWS

RALLY ROUND NEWS
Vintage motorcycle enthusiast Paul Old contacted the Rally Round office for advice on route planning and distances for his endeavour to follow the original Paris-Madrid Rally route as closely as possible on his wonderful 1906 Lurquin et Coudert classic motorcycle.

Paul is hoping to complete the route in 14 days, taking many photos of the spectacular sights along the way including in the world-famous Jardin des Tuileries and many more. The whole team at Rally Round wishes Paul good luck and safe travels!

Paris-Vienna Rally 2016
The Paris-Vienna Rally 2016 is already shaping up to be a great rally, with entries already received from six nations and a wonderful selection of cars. Rally Round events are designed to appeal to novice crews as well as experts, so we are delighted to welcome James and Katja Fenner on their first ever rally, driving a Porsche 356. More experienced newcomers to the Rally Round paddock include Petr Kedjus from the Czech Republic driving a Jaguar Mk2, and Ken and Jane Fraser, who are looking forward to the event that they have set aside their 1924 Bentley two-seater for a 1929 'Blower' that allows more space for period dress!
We are also pleased to welcome Lord and Lady Laidlaw in their BMW 319 (pictured above), Richard Lemon, former Peking-Paris competitor Harry Jurgens from the Netherlands and Trans-America participant Michael Eatough, co-driven by Peter Godwin. Other familiar names included James Mitchell and Anya Jackel, who we last saw driving their MG TA on the 2014 Paris-Madrid; James has since been busy launching a new historic car sales business at Bicester Heritage (www.pendine.co). Also returning are Michael O'Shea and Clive Venning in their 1938 Jaguar MkIV, as are Chris Evans and Mark Seymour, this time in two different cars, partnered by Chris Seaton and Nick Evans respectively. Among veterans of the first Paris-Madrid in 2013 are Jeff and Glenda Robinson, who are bringing their Dodge Brothers Tourer all the way from Australia, and Steven Collins, who is swapping his 1936 Bentley for a 1928 model
.
We are very much hoping that Alastair Caldwell, Paris-Madrid winner in 2013 and 2014, will be making time in his busy schedule to defend his title and lift the Charles Jarrott Trophy for a third time. Several other crews have confirmed and we are awaiting their entry forms, so we expect to have more news shortly. Watch this space and do not hesitate to contact the Rally Round office for a full and updated entry list in future.
