2015 DONNINGTON HISTORIC FESTIVAL DATES CONFIRMED

Dates confirmed for 2015 Donington Historic Festival

Fans of historic motorsport have an important new date for their diaries, as the 2015 Donington Historic Festival is confirmed for the Bank Holiday weekend of Saturday 2nd, Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th May.

Festival founder, Duncan Wiltshire, said, “Within just a few years this event has become a major fixture on the international calendar, and one which goes from strength to strength. The mixture of world-class historic motor racing and open-access paddock, off-track attractions such as classic rally and karting demos and a wide range of car club displays, plus the inimitable Donington Park atmosphere, has made it a firm favourite with spectators. This goes for everyone from long-time classic motorsport enthusiasts to those who have never seen a historic race car in action before.”

The sheer variety of cars taking part is another major ‘pull’ for the Donington Historic Festival. With racing machines spanning some seven decades – from the 1920s to the 1980s – and everything from single-seaters to GT cars, sportscars and Touring Cars competing, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

As well as its hard-fought racing from hugely skilled drivers (including a number of the ‘big names’ from the history of the sport), and the beauty, rarity, provenance and value of the race cars themselves, the Festival is also renowned for its relaxed and friendly atmosphere. This makes it popular with families looking for a great day out, and an ideal way to introduce the younger generation to a hugely entertaining spectacle.

Ticket prices for the 2015 Donington Historic Festival will be announced later this year, and tickets will go on sale in November. For further information please visit www.doningtonhistoric.com

NEWS UPDATE - CONCOURS OF ELEGANCE at HAMPTON COURT

Concours of Elegance

VISITORS TO THE
2014 CONCOURS OF ELEGANCE
GET THE CHANCE TO VOTE FOR THEIR FAVOURITE CAR

·        The 2014 Concours of Elegance to gather 60 of the rarest cars from around the world at Hampton Court Palace on 5-7 September
·        For the very first time, visitors to the annual Concours will be given the chance to choose their favourite car, and make a donation to the official event charities
·        The 60 exceptional concours cars will be joined by over 700 other fine automobiles from the UK’s leading Car Clubs and organised classic car tours
In just six weeks time the third international Concours of Elegance will open within the stunning setting of Hampton Court Palace, from 5-7 September 2014.
For the very first time, visitors to the Concours of Elegance will be able to vote for their personal favourite among of the sixty hand-picked concours cars, selected from all around the world, with many of them never seen before in this country.
Voting for the Public Choice, Concours of Elegance visitors will be able to text the entry number of their favoured concours car from their mobile telephone, whilst helping to raise money for the Concours official chosen charities (to be confirmed shortly), with all money raised going directly to the charities.
The annual Concours of Elegance differs from a traditional concours, which usually includes a judging panel briefed to scrutinise each entry and select a ‘winning’ car.  The Concours of Elegance organisers maintain that if a car has been invited to participate in the Concours, it is already a winner, with each vehicle owner voting on the other Concours car that he or she considers to be the most elegant car in the event.
In addition to the 60 concours cars, more than 350 other fine automobiles from the UK’s leading Car Club will also be in attendance each day over the Concours weekend, all displayed within the majestic setting of the Hampton Court Palace grounds, with many more classic cars to be found in a dedicated pre-1975 ‘tax exempt’ parking area.
When the inaugural annual Concours of Elegance was established in 2012, a key objective from the outset was to be a highly successful charity fundraising initiative.  In the first two years of its existence, the award-winning Concours of Elegance – held at Windsor Castle in 2012 and at St James’s Palace in 2013 – has raised more than £500,000 for charity.
The 2014 Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace will be open to the public on Saturday 6 September and Sunday 7 September, with entry tickets, picnics and hospitality available strictly in advance only.  Concours admission tickets will include entry into Hampton Court Palace and its extensive grounds, and these can be purchased now at the Concours of Elegance website (www.concoursofelegance.co.uk).   Limited edition Concours of Elegance Posters and Souvenir Catalogues are also available.

GOODWOOD REVIVAL UPDATE 23-09-14

Goodwood Revival

Goodwood Revival - Just three weeks to go...
You might have seen plenty of classic Aston Martins grace the Goodwood Estate in the past, but we have a James Bond first for you this year in the shape of a Bond villain's aircraft: the helicopter used in Goldfinger, in which the man with the Midas touch travels with his deadly pilot Pussy Galore. The helicopter is sure to be a big hit with fans of the franchise when it appears as part of the Freddie March Spirit of Aviation presented by Eve, which now has all sorts of confirmed aircraft.

We are also so pleased to reveal that we are building a life-sized replica of Stonehenge to mark 50 years since the founding of Britain's Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. We are always trying to give you original attractions at the Revival and this one is certainly unique.

There are still some tickets available for the Revival but we urge you to act soon to avoid disappointment. Whether you are coming or not, be a part of the event with our Revival Stream - just use #GoodwoodRevival when posting on social media. You'll also find the latest news, videos, photos, competitions and more.
