PREVIEW DAY PROVIDES FREE TESTING FOR SILVERSTONE CLASSIC COMPETITORS

• Annual curtain-raiser set for Wednesday 2 May
• Pre-season testing available on full Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit
• Online media accreditation now open for the Silverstone Classic 2018

Competitors gearing up for another record-breaking Silverstone Classic (20-22 July) are once again being offered the welcome opportunity to test their cars in advance… and for free!

Staged at the ‘Home of British Motor Sport’, the Silverstone Classic is the world’s biggest classic motor racing festival, attracting more than 1,000 race entries. The packed programme features the full spectrum of historic motor sport, and this summer’s added highlights will include spectacular new showdowns for Masters Endurance Legends plus the return of Tin Top Sunday to celebrate 60 years of the massively popular MSA British Touring Car Championship.

All those competing in July’s extravaganza are being given the chance to fine-tune their cars and/or familiarise themselves with the full Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit on Wednesday 2 May.

The curtain-raiser will include morning and afternoon test sessions segregated into classes with an extended break at lunchtime to enable a series of event photo opportunities and other publicity-generating activities on-track.

“It’s really no surprise that the provision of a free test day on the Silverstone Grand Circuit has always been extremely popular with our competitors as it gives them a wonderful opportunity to prepare for the Classic later in the summer,” said Nick Wigley, CEO of event organiser Goose Live Events.

Understandably, the chance for free testing at Silverstone has proved highly popular in recent years and event organisers are expecting the limited number of available places to be snapped up swiftly.

Entries – strictly restricted to those competing at the Classic – will be accepted on a ‘first come, first served’ basis and application forms are available via the official event website at https://www.silverstoneclassic.com/competitor-info/Preview-Day-Testing.

For the public, Early Bird tickets for the 2018 Silverstone Classic are available offering significant savings. Adult prices start at just £37 and stick to the Classic’s widely praised ‘access all areas’ policy, providing admission to both race paddocks, trackside grandstands and the live music concerts.

Full details of all tickets (which must be purchased in advance) – as well as hospitality packages and weekend festival camping – can be found on the official www.silverstoneclassic.com website.
