Leading specialist car insurer and valuation specialists Hagerty UK announces a partnership with Bonhams, the international auction house, to provide valuation and insurance services.

Hagerty, well known for their market reports, data and live events such as the Festival Of The Unexceptional, will provide Bonhams with a range of services including free valuations, drive-away insurance and support at Bonhams UK-based sales and Bonhams MPH events taking place at Bicester Heritage.

The launch of Hagerty’s ‘Drive Away Insurance’ is an example of the forward-thinking often demonstrated by the brand. Buyers who successfully bid on a car at any Bonhams MPH auction will be able to drive away, fully covered, once they have purchased. This eliminates the need to arrange transport and enables car owners to fuel their passion for a new car immediately after the sale has ended.

To facilitate this, the Hagerty team will be at every Bonhams MPH sale, adjacent to the main stage, to gather details of any buyers who wish to take advantage of the offer. The first 5-days of insurance will be free of charge, with the buyer having the option (but no obligation) to move into a full Hagerty policy after this period. Note that cars will need to be fully road legal, with current MOT (if applicable), to benefit from this service.

The highly regarded Hagerty Valuation service will also be offered at all UK-based Bonhams Sales including those staged at Goodwood and Beaulieu and at Bicester Heritage, when Bonhams MPH auctions are taking place inside the huge Hangar 113 event space, and also at Bicester’s ever-popular ‘Scramble’ events.

The Hagerty team will appraise and photograph cars in preparation for valuation at Hagerty HQ. Once valued each owner will receive a full report, along with photographs, providing an accurate valuation of their vehicle in the current market. This report can be used when selling, for insurance valuations or simply as a welcome addition to a car’s history file.

Marcus Atkinson, Hagerty Managing Director, said “Partnering with Bonhams is something we are immensely proud of. Both brands are well-known by enthusiasts and both keep the finest cars in the world on the road. To enable excited new buyers the opportunity to drive home in their newly purchased classic, or to understand the true market value of a classic they already own, provides an invaluable service to the car community across all spectrums and we look forward to starting our collaboration at the Goodwood Revival.”

Tim Schofield, Head of Bonhams UK Collectors’ Motor Cars, said “We are delighted to partner with Hagerty to provide our clients with this bespoke service. Having their representatives at our sales will facilitate setting up new policies for buyers, enhancing the process of buying a motor car from a Bonhams sale and we look forward to working together on further initiatives to benefit our clients.”

Hagerty International is regarded as one of the world leaders in classic car market analysis and the valuation of classic cars. Regular market reports are published by Hagerty taking data from owners, collectors, car sales and auctions from around the world to give an accurate overview of the classic car market, its stability and value.
