TYRE SMOKING ACTION

GUARANTEED AS IGNITION

FEVER GRIPS GLASGOW

• Live Action Zone provide thrills on two and four wheels
• Top Gear Stunt Team in action
• Hot laps from Grand Prix cars and stars
The Live Action Zone at IGNITION festival of motoring, running from 5-7 August at the SECC Glasgow will play host to the Top Gear Stunt Team led by Paul Swift, the astonishingly athletic JCB Dancing Diggers plus the spectacular 2Bros Motorbike Stunt Team, led by Vandal and Ashley. Riding their specially prepared Kawasakis, the 2Bros team will perform a mechanical ballet of wheelies, stoppies and plenty of other dazzling tricks as they make their bikes defy the laws of physics.

More tyre smoking action will be provided by another energetic display outfit, the Top Gear Stunt Team, led by Paul Swift… only they use cars rather than bikes. It’s just that they spend as much time driving sideways rather than forwards. Precision driving at its awe inspiring finest, the astonishing display also includes inch perfect parallel parking (at speed), motorised dance routines, J turns, drifts and donuts.

Rally legend Jimmy McRae will be driving son Colin’s WRC title-winning Subaru and there’ll be demonstrations from hot rods, dragsters, supercars and historic and modern rally cars while Top Gear’s The Stig will also be on hand to show off his driving talents… though don’t expect many insights if he’s interviewed. In total more than 100 race and road cars will be in action on the remarkable street circuit.

What’s more, all the eye-catching fun on the street circuit and at the Live Action Zone is included in the IGNITION entry price.

There’s much more to IGNITION Festival of Motoring. Halls at the SECC will house displays of mouth-watering classic cars and bikes, supercars from the Top Gear Performance Grid as well as a tribute to the contribution Scotland has made to world motor sport. There will be new cars on show too, with the opportunity for would-be buyers to take a test drive on site.

Paul Bush OBE, VisitScotland’s Director of Events, said: “EventScotland is delighted to support the very first edition of IGNITION in Scotland and I’m sure the Live Action Zone is going to be one of the most popular attractions at the SECC. Scotland is the perfect stage for events and, through our support, we hope IGNITION can cement its position on the Scottish events calendar for the years to come, expanding the country’s varied event portfolio.”
