DATE ANNOUNCED FOR THE 2016 MSA SPRING CLASSIC

The date for the 2016 MSA Spring Classic was announced last week.

International Motor Sports Limited (IMS) has confirmed that next year’s hugely popular scenic tour for classic cars will be staged over the weekend of 23-24 April.

After last year’s sell-out event, next April’s fourth MSA Spring Classic will be based back at the luxurious Celtic Manor Resort in the beautiful Usk Valley.

Full details of the full two-day, non-competitive route will be published shortly, but the itinerary will include a tour of Herefordshire on Saturday and a circuit of the Cotswolds on Sunday, again featuring a magical mix of great driving roads plus a number of cultural, motor sport and other places of interest – all chosen specifically to provide a memorable weekend of classic motoring.

“As well as involvement in Formula One and the World Rally Championship, IMS has more than 25 years of experience in highly successful classic car events both in the UK and in Europe,” said Ben Taylor, Managing Director of IMS, the commercial subsidiary of the Motor Sports Association, the national governing body of UK motor sport.

“We are confirming the date for next year’s MSA Spring Classic to give everyone something to look forward to over the winter months. This year’s event was over-subscribed and we are confident that next year’s event will again be hugely popular both with participants and those lucky enough to catch the evocative cavalcade on the open road.”

The MSA Spring Classic offers just 100 places for classic cars that are more than 20 years old. A captivating route of the best driving roads and interesting locations guarantees a fabulous weekend, while the Gala Dinner brings all participants together on the Saturday night.

Home of the 2010 Ryder Cup, the five-star Celtic Manor Resort is set in more than 2,000 acres of panoramic parkland at the gateway to Wales. It boasts two hotels – a 334-room luxury Resort Hotel and an historic 19th century Manor House with 67 rooms – two exceptional spas, two state-of-the-art health clubs and three golf courses.

The cars that brushed off their winter cobwebs earlier this year for the 2015 MSA Spring Classic included a lexicon of true classics from the golden era of the British sportscar industry. Among these were numerous iconic marques including Alvis, Aston Martin, Austin Healey, Bentley, Daimler, Jaguar, Lotus, MG, Morgan, Sunbeam, Triumph and TVR. They were joined by classics from right around globe, with brands such as Porsche and Mercedes representing Europe while a Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Corvette added a little American V8 thunder to proceedings.
